Dear friends,
Let's move on. The boycott seems to continue to spread as a bush-fire.
We received only positive answers on our proposal for an international day
of
consumers' boycott of the war. Positive feed-back came from amongst others
from the Netherlands, Finland, US and Japan. We believe it is time to get
more serious about this international day of actions and get it organised.
We should be able to get an organisers packet on our website(s) this week.
ACTION
Sign up with your group!! Let us know that you want to be part of this. We
are especially looking for organisers in other parts of the world.
Therefore we propose that more groups get on board to organise non-violent
consumers action on Tuesday April 15th around the world, going from
picketting a McDonalds, having restaurant owners withdraw US products,
schools withdrawing Coke machines, e-mail avalanches spread calling for
boycott, .... to Esso and Texaco station being closed symbolically. We
should
come up with a long list of possible actions to go on as many boycott
websites and networks as possible.
For Mother Earth should be able to function as one of the clearinghouses for
this.
We will contact once again the International Peace Bureau and ask them to
get
on board. If you are a member of IPB, let us know. Of course we will also
continue to network with the For Mother Earth and the Abolition 2000 global
network. As we believe it is time to get more international and national
NGO's and networks on board we hope you can also get the word out to you
inter-national network contact Let us know which networks you (will) in
touch with.
We are looking forward to working with you all on this,
Peace,
Pol D'Huyvetter
